We get some pretty cool cars to sell, here at Texas Best Used Motorcycles. This is a pretty cool car!
It is a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Convertible. The hard top retracts into the trunk. The whole retractable roof system works exactly how it should and it's fun to watch! They only made these cars for 3 years.
Under the hood is a V-8, either a 312 or a 290 CI. It came with either a 2 barrel carburetor or a 4 barrel. This one has the 4 barrel.
We think it might be the 312 CI. The engine compartment has been freshened up and looks really nice. There is some fluid leaking, we believe it is the power steering.
This car does have air conditioning, but when you turn on the A/C, the belt squeaks. There is a new A/C compressor in the box, in the trunk, so that will have to be installed.
It has an older paint job, with some scratches and nicks, but it looks okay, overall.
The interior is in great condition, it has been redone recently and looks very good!
The front brakes have been upgraded to power disc, the rear are power drum brakes.
